New Street Consulting Group launches today

Interim Partners, BrightPool & Wickland Westcott rebrand to become NSCG

New Street Group, the people solutions provider, officially rebrands and launches as New Street Consulting Group on August 26 with big plans to expand overseas.

New Street Consulting Group offers leadership consulting and talent solutions services, including executive search, interim management and volume recruitment to a wide range of private and public sector businesses.

The firm has particular strengths working across financial services, healthcare, housing and local government, manufacturing and engineering, retail and leisure, infrastructure and support services and private equity-backed businesses.

New Street Consulting Group (NSCG) has been formed from the combination of three specialised businesses – Interim Partners, Wickland Westcott and Brightpool. The new, more integrated suite of services across the group provides a platform from which the business can expand in the UK and internationally.

NSCG has implemented a growth strategy that aims to double its turnover within the next five years. Turnover was £48m last year. NSCG has offices in the City of London, Harrogate and Macclesfield, with a new office in Leeds opening in the Autumn.

What does NSCG do?
NSCG has five key service lines for businesses: interim management, executive search, leadership assessment and development, agile talent solutions (which involves the recruitment and deployment of teams of highly-skilled contractors for major projects and outsourced recruitment services) and talent strategy consulting. Interim management services will continue to be provided under the Interim Partners brand.

NSCG’s leadership consulting services focuses on the development of leaders and teams and includes succession planning, team acceleration facilitation, executive and management coaching.

The firm’s assessment services can aid leadership teams in identifying what skills and expertise are needed at senior levels and source the right executives to fill those gaps. This service is particularly effective for private equity businesses looking to carry out due diligence on an incumbent leadership team pre-deal.

NSCG works with hundreds of clients in this area and has 30+ year client relationships with FTSE100 companies, such as Aviva and Diageo, as well as major overseas companies, such as Eon, Nissan and Nestle.

Executive search and specialist interim management recruitment involves sourcing senior executives, at or just below board level, who are hired on a permanent basis or interim basis to drive transformation and support mission critical projects such as business turnaround or restructuring programmes. Examples of typical senior interim manager roles include chief restructuring officer and head of digital transformation.

Agile talent solutions (previously undertaken through the Brightpool brand) is an important service for businesses looking to deploy blended teams of contractors and permanent professionals. This service enables businesses to scale resources up or down depending on where they are needed; for example, across regulatory compliance, customer service or delivering technology transformation. Clients can hire teams of 50-250 contractors at any given time.

The outlook post-coronavirus
NSCG believes it is well positioned to advise businesses on challenges that arise in the post-coronavirus era, as well as longer-term challenges.

The challenges businesses are likely to face include the re-skilling and developing leaders so they are equipped to deal with coronavirus-related disruption, the digitalisation of businesses and new approaches to workforce strategy that increase agility and reduce costs.

The growing need for businesses to digitise supply chains and customer service functions is expected to drive a surge in demand for digital transformation interims. Current economic stress is also driving demand for restructuring and turnaround experts – a core strength of NSCG.

Doug Baird, CEO at New Street Consulting Group, says: “We are pooling decades of experience across three highly successful businesses into one new, exciting offering and market positioning.”

“Capturing what we do under a more unified brand will make it easier for clients that want to access a wider range of our services across our group, either standalone or as an integrated solution.”

“The combination of these complementary services, covering leadership consultancy and people solutions, means clients and professionals can come to the same place for a blend of different services that will serve their specific needs. Our new brand also gives us a better platform for growth which will travel better internationally as we look to overseas expansion.”

“Our offering will help clients solve their talent and business challenges post-coronavirus as they reboot their businesses and plan for a future beyond the crisis. Our aim is to help them think differently about senior, specialist talent, and offer new ways to access, engage and develop high-performers to meet the organisational demands of today and tomorrow.”
